Just ordered the Droid X. My other Piece of crap just broke. Damn things are on back order like crazy. It's not going to ship until 8/31.

That covers 2 of 3, basically just features, proc, screen res, shit like that. If you already have a droid, wait till last quarter this year, well likely be seeing 2 gig procs and possiby dualcores....mmm

I went to the store and played with all of them. I'll say this, The X looks like the best one IMO. It has a huge screen compared to the other droids. The "2" has the slide out keyboard wich is kinda cool but I found the X screen keyboard much easier to utilize then it's blackberry and iPhone counterparts.

If you're brave you can overclock your original droid to be as fast as the new ones. The Droid X screen however is fuckin sweet. And the Droid 2 keyboard looks like its alot better than the original, although I haven't tried it yet.

I dont even overclock my PC' let alone something that hangs out in my pants next to my junk....overheating issues near my little man are not acceptable losses....

Oh yeah, almost forgot to tell all you Droid people - I have free Wifi tethering. How might you ask? Well, its pretty simple if you have root. I'm unsure how this will affect my future updates but the rooting app I used has a way to "un-root" which I'm hoping will be sufficient. Here's what I did:

1. Install EasyRoot from their website and donate the $0.99 (I donated the max because this saved so much of the normal rooting headache). http://www.unstableapps.com/
2. Grab the BusyBox installer from the app market and run through it.
3. Grab "Wireless Tether" from the app market or one of the other many many free ones (I like this one the best though).
4. Profit! You now hold in your hands a mobile wireless hotspot! Enjoy!

If I have good reception I'm getting about 1.2Mb down. In crappy areas I still get about 200-300, which is fine for email and stuff but really sucks for gaming or YouTube. In good areas I can surf pretty much like normal and even played AoC on it, not bad eh?

how them dropped calls treating you? and its only soooo hot because the cooling mechanism was poorly designed ;)

I havent had a single dropped call occur, including in a concrete incased basement underground in a very old building, so HAH :D And mine doesn't get warm at all. Nor do I notice any antenna problem based on my grip.

And no, I don't have the free bumper case.

AT&T has great service out here though, and I just recently got my phone. Had to wait for one to be shipped to my house directly because AT&T sells out of them all within 2 hrs in the middle of a freaking weekday :/

Which droid, which provider? Some providers put a sense ui and a bunch of proprietary crap on it. GImme a call, Brick has my number if you need it. Ill hook you up with a nice clean interface...
